Category: Accessible Games
hi all.
I saw the advert for the accessible second life client here. I went to the site and checked it out.
is anyone here actually playing there?
if so, can you give tips and tricks?
thanks.
I have been trying to get it to work on my Mac, I've been installing the X11 stuff and all the other required pieces of software to play but to no avail yet… Hopefully soon though
How do I get off virtual abilities or whatever that island is called and start actually doing things.
I think it's alt+7 to bring up the search dialog, then select the places tab, search for something that you'd find interesting, right click on a place and choose teleport.
I have been playing seconed life for a few days now, and while i've found different places, I still have no clue what i'm doing. Doe sanybody have any tips on buying things to purchease, getting a job, earning money, etc?
I am interested in this as well. I heard about it when it first started, but of course, it was inaccessible then. If anyonehas success with this software, please let us all know.
I've been at it for a few days, but I didn't sign up with Virtual Abilities. I just did it through the website official, which works okay. But how yould you use a simulator?
Signing up wasn't my trouble; getting the client called Radegast working has, so far, been a bust.
wow...Reading these I'm kinda disappointed in 2nd life since I have no clue about it and was wondering if someone could explain how to play the game. I'll keep checking back though!
I'm not sure how to move around Radegast. Whenever i open Radegast, it makes my default sound very soft. Is this normal? And, is there any tips and tricks on how to et around using Radegast? I've try everything on the quick guide, but i aint getting anyware with it. *sigh*
hmm. wow. and I thought the client that was being advertised here was accessible? I am very familiar with playing muds, you'd think that second life would be similar but, alas, not.
to bad as, I read that there are still thousands of folks playing it.
makes me wonder if we will be left out of the up and coming trend of virtual gaming. I fear we will be and, that does not make me a happy camper.
Agreed!
i've heard of this game, but never tried it. i'm a windows user when it comes to gaming.
Yes I wouldn't mind trying this game out it did remind me of a MUD at
first til I seen some of the commands for it, I sure wouldn't mind some
help on downloading it and things, also I tried to get a audo caption to
signup but it didn't work, and thoughs things usually sound like shit.
I did not come across any captchas during the sign-up process. Now i'm just
trying to figure out what in the heck needs to be installed on the windows
computer, (and eventually here when windows is installed via bootCamp), so I
can play. If anyone can offer some insight, I would greatly appreciate the
assistance. Thanks.
I tried Radegast a little bit.
I can't remember the keystrokes you can look those up.
it's not like a Mud, it's a graphical interface and you use the tree view to select objects or places to go and things.
It's not a game, it a simulation. I personally found it a little pointlness but that is probably because I was approaching it like a game.
It's a bit cumbersome to get around, read descriptions, etc.
Again, there are keystrokes online for how to move around in it. I uninstalled it quite a while ago. But there are people who really love virtual life sims, so. Consider this to be like those, only you don't compete or earn things, or even get to kill anything lol.
If you liked the UnGame in the 70s, you'll probably like this.
Wtf I just realized I was calling this game a MUD when I looked at it
some too, dunno if I would wanna play it now though lol
Sims like Second Life aren't games, though they may have games inside them. I wonder if mapping a sim onto a two-dimensional space, such as the environment screen readers provide, ends up turning it into a kind of 'much' with multi-media capabilities? If one can convert dollars to lindons, and back again, I suppose one can get "real money" from commerce and gambling in Second Life?
well check this out fi u guys use screen readers http://textsl.org/
Welp idk if Im signup for the right site, it keeps giving me the visual caption and when I click on audio it still don't work. I finally relized I had it downloaded to my laptop but can't play it cause I can't make an account? any help or am I signing up wrong? lol.

I go on SL sometimes. If anyone's interested, reply here or send me a PM, PQN or use one of the other contact methods in my profile and I'll help you out.
